New Faces, Busy Again & Breaking the Mould

Summer may be fading fast but here at HaverShed, things are busy as ever. Today we had a few new faces Eifion (hope that’s right?), Brian and a few unknowns – who came in, had a look and went! You’re all welcome – don’t have to stay long. There’s always tea & coffee on the go as well as endless natter – usually about nuffin! We have a pretty well equipped workshop now with two lathes, a variety of saws and various paraphernalia that goes with woodwork. Anyone can come and “Have a Go!”, bring your own project in or make a pen!!

Eifion & our Master Turner, Phil – a true shedder now – he’s made a pen!

Yes, in under one hour – you too can make a pen! The HaverShed initiation ceremony. Well done.
Nigel (and Steve) set up up the Muppet Laboratory – making epoxy resin moulds for future pen making . . .
It’s a tricky (well, for us) operation, a bit of fun but we both came to a sticky end!
The finished items – artful colour streaking . . .we’ll have a go at machining them next Wednesday

A lot of tidying up was done today – ably assisted, if not led, by our very own Ernie! Well done mate – every shed should have one.

I think we had about a dozen guys (and one lady) turn up today. A few new faces – which is good. The guys continued to make the giant bird feeders plus Dave & Steve put together the new BBQ – without reading the instructions! So, a Barbie is def on the cards but not sure when – stay posted folks!! Open every Wednesday until 4 plus the odd Saturday . . .see our Facebook page too.
