Noise, dust, new faces . . . another fun day at HaverShed!

Yes, another busy, busy day here in HaverShed. Some new faces – we welcomed Gareth, Brian, Rob & Derek. Phil & Zac were in early sawing, chopping, planing (see I am getting these terms . . .!). We now have some gigantic bird boxes (Eagles? Red Kites?) and we began to work on those acrylic pens from our moulds. The handles arrived for our BBQ but one was wrong (Doh!). Kevin has finished prepping his donated Moulton Bikes – these are up for sale, we have three of them . . . so if you fancy helping to make sommit or just want some mad company or just a cuppa – do pop in!

Ernie proudly showing off the finished bird mansion
Alan had a hand in this creation too – notice our new corporate outfit – the HaverShed polo shirt! Very limited edition.
We turned out the resin moulds, drilled a hole thru and inserted the metal tube – ready for the lathe.
Nigel drilled all the holes thru the blocks
Phil and Steve had a go at turning the acrylic blocks – it was hard work and made a fair bit of mess!
Another new face (Rob) gets the initiation ceremony – making a wooden pen
The finished pen. Getting waxed.
Our latest member! Donated by Ernie. We looked it up – it’s a Pye Continental VHF 2D. New in 1958 and yours for £22 7s 4d !! And what’s more it actually works and gives a good sound.
